{"id":659,"date":"2025-09-12T15:41:12","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T20:41:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/malunga.org\/malunga-network-for-global-justice-and-against-anti-black-racism\/"},"modified":"2025-10-15T14:51:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-15T19:51:11","slug":"malunga-network-for-global-justice-and-against-anti-black-racism","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/malunga.org\/en\/","title":{"rendered":"Malunga: Network for Global Justice and against Anti-Black Racism"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Malunga is a global network that brings together a diversity of actors: activists, intellectuals, educators, artists, people in public service, and strategic allies with a common agenda of fighting against anti-Black racism and demanding anti-racist policies as a primary resource for achieving global justice.<br\/>The Network adopts the expression <em>Malunga<\/em>, a Congo-Bantu word that emits a profound message through four interrelated meanings:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>First, a <strong>large ship<\/strong>: symbol of the shared journey.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Second, <strong>collective suffering<\/strong>: in memory of the wounds of the past.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Third, <strong>black solidarity<\/strong>: a force that unites and sustains.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fourth, as <strong>travel companions<\/strong>: representation of mutual support and co-responsibility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>The Malunga Network was born as a collective response to structural racism and its historical consequences: from the transatlantic slave trade to the multiple forms of violence that still persist.
